Elizabeth J. Spencer is a licensed independent clinical social worker. She is an experienced psychotherapist who has had a private practice in Cambridge since 1989. She has recently opened a second office in Natick, MA.
She received her MSW at Simmons College School of Social Work, and certification in British Object Relations Theory and Therapy from the Washington (D.C.) School of Psychiatry. Elizabeth has worked in community mental health and hospital settings, and she was a psychotherapist on the staff at the Emerson College Counseling Center.
She specializes in working with people who have issues with their sense of self and relationships, and people who are confronting blocks in their creative process. Her work in the greater Boston area has included therapy with visual and performing artists and writers. She works with individuals and couples, and she has led groups at Mass College of Art and Emerson College.
Elizabeth studied improvisational dance and authentic movement for many years. She currently is engaged in her own creative process in the visual arts.
